Feature Member Business - Sudzie Car Wash:

John and Christine Massengill opened the doors to this full service car wash in April of 2004. Since then, they have washed over 200,000 vehicles.

The car wash business has been a part of John's family off and on since 1949 in the Chicago area. John and Christine decided to carry on the family tradition and opened Sudzie Autowash right here in Scarborough. They offer complete interior and exterior auto cleaning and detailing. Their facility features an environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art Soft Cloth exterior washing process that is great for your car and for the environment. They recognize this can be a difficult time for their customers and have responded with some reduced wash prices, production improvements and additional staff. One of their new items is an express detailing service that takes 20 minutes and is $39.99, including a full-service car wash.

John and Christine love Scarborough and are very committed in giving back to the community. On Veteran's Day last year, they washed over 200 cars for FREE and plan on doing that every year. It was their way of saying 'thanks' to the men and women in uniform and those who have served our country. John stated, "It's very gratifying to be there on Veterans Day and shaking the hand of a retired veteran from the Korean War who thanks us by saying, 'That's the nicest thing anyone has ever done to thank me for my service.' Frankly, I told the veteran, 'That's the least anyone could do for your service.'"

They currently have a food drive for the local food bank and anyone who brings in a non-perishable food item gets $1 off any car wash. They also sponsor the summer concert series and a local little league team.

John and Christine have been with the Scarborough Community Chamber since they opened their business and joined because other business members encouraged them to do so. They believe that we all should look to do business with fellow chamber members and support those businesses that are in our local communities.
