Sudzie 101The following is a brief review of the most common types of carwashes available in the greater Portland area.Exterior-only In an exterior-only carwash, only the outside of the vehicle is cleaned with conveyorized equipment. The consumer usually remains in their car and the interior of the auto is usually not cleaned. Since interior cleaning and exterior detailing services are usually not performed at an exterior carwash, the cost of a basic exterior wash is among the lowest in town. Following are some of the features of this type of carwash: In an exterior only carwash, the consumer rides through the equipment washing and drying cycle. When the vehicle exits the tunnel, the vehicle is partially dried by a high-pressure blower. The blower does an adequate job of drying most of the cars surface but tends to leave spots of water. Touchless Wash Systems Touchless wash systems are great for giving your car a good rinse to get the visual dirt accumulated on ones vehicle off the car. However, touchless systems tend to leave a film of dirt on the vehicles surface and have very little ability to deep clean a car's surface as well as to get wheels and tires to shine. Most of these washes also leave a tremendous amount of water on the vehicles surface when exiting the wash. This is typical of most washes that you find at gas stations. Sudzie's Full Service Carwash Full-service car washing requires some additional equipment and substantially more labor than an exterior-only carwash. In a full-service facility the consumer leaves his vehicle at the entrance point. An attendant will take the car and complete a thorough vacuum cleaning (including machine floor mat cleaning if desired) prior to sending the car through the wash tunnel. During the wash cycle, a series of soft cloth cleaning agents massage ones vehicles surface to extract the dirt and film residue from the surface. How many times have you gone through a local carwash and spent $8.00 or more for what you thought would be a thorough cleaning of your cars exterior only to be disappointed when you got home that the vehicle was still dirty, had a layer of film on the surface, the windows were streaked and most importantly, it looked like they missed the entire rear window or hatch on mini vans and SUV's? Sudzie has invested in additional equipment to ensure that dirty vehicles during the winter months of Maine are thoroughly cleaned during the wash cycle. This includes extra tall side brushes to clean various mini vans and SUV's from top to bottom including the back hatch and window combination. The vehicle exits the tunnel through a series of high-pressure blowers to dry the vehicles surface. Now, this is where Sudzie Autowash differs from most other carwashes. It is here where our attendant will take your vehicle to our drying staging area to completely dry the exterior of your car. Additionally, we will wipe the interior doorjambs to clean as well as protect them from freezing during the winter months.
